"Mediensis" Technical College is situated in Medias, in the heart of Transylvania, an area full of ancient customs and history from Romania. Medias is a centuries old town, set up at the end of the 12th century, which has preserved along the time rich tradesmen’s tradition.
For over 60 years our school forms qualified staff for the jobs asked on the local job-market. Many of our graduates choose to continue their studies following the courses of some faculties comparable to our high school’s profile.
This year in our school are learning a number of 555 students, guided by 50 teachers and coordinated by a manager helped by a deputy manager. The school has two buildings with 30 classrooms, cabinets and laboratories and also 6 workshops for practical instruction.
The current specializations from the educational offer of our school belong to the technological channel: the technological profile (technician operator in ICT, technician in textile-leather industry, technician in constructions and installations) respectively the services profile (technician in financial activities, technician in administration and technician in aesthetics.
Our students are studying English and French as foreign languages. In our school we have a counselor where the students can get advice for their problems and studying activities. We have basketball, volleyball, football, theatre plays and folk dances activities during each year and our teams are successfully participating in different competitions. Through the activities carried on with our students we have in view the acquiring of competences and abilities necessary for personal development and for professional integration and active citizenship.
